Being a Nanny in Germany: Learn Intermediate German and get a job as Nanny

Enjoy working with children, learn a foreign language, extend your horizon, become independent. If you love children and you would like to take up a profession that includes the care for children or if you like to be a flight attendant afterwards or learn a profession which includes foreign languages?
A nanny or nursery-maid often does not have to live in the house of the Host Family but has her own apartment or house and is often a native person. She is responsible for the children’s education. A nanny or nursery-maid has a qualified education in a pedagogical or in a caretaker profession as a kindergarten teacher, social worker, educator, caretaker, pediatric nurse etc. She often has experience in her profession and will get a higher salary. She is not responsible for the cleaning for cleaning of household except of the children´s room.
Requirements for Nannies in Germany:
· 23 to 40 years of age, good appearance and very good manners,
possessing flexibility and readiness to travel
· good to very good references and a work experience of approx.
3 years, should have worked in a private household
· driving license and driving experience necessary, shall speak
German (level 2) and different languages, mostly English
· to be able to cook for the children, to clean the children’s rooms
and to wash and iron the children’s clothes
· should be able to work after the hours expressed in the contract,
if it is necessary
· Please note there is a rare demand for men, Nannies usually
are women!
What does a Nanny earn in Germany? (Salary varies):
If she is living in the Host Families house she can earn up to € 1,900.
If she is living in her own house/flat she can earn up to € 2,500.
The employer is responsible for the Nanny’s tax and health insurance contributions, obtaining work permits and satisfying any registration requirements as are required by law. As well a Nanny has a title on vacations, period of notice, she must have an accident insurance and gets her payment if she is sick.
No German language knowledge?
If you speak insufficient German to e a Nanny in Germany (required level Zertifikat Deutsch für den Beruf or German for a profession) you can do the Basic German course first, become an Au-Pair (if you fit the requirements). During your Au-Pair period, German language classes (one day a week) for free are compulsory. This way you can try to get your relevant German language certificate.
Basic German course in Hungary
This program is designed to provide a basic background in German and courses related to living in Germany. Upon successful completion of this program, students can do the required test with the German embassy. Lodging will be in double or triple rooms with shared bathroom facilities.
Cost: 7,600 euro for 12 months course, incl. 3 months housing*

4,800 euro for 6 month course, incl. 3 months housing*
(leading to the Basic German (level 2) certificate)

To apply for the German basic language course and the Nanny position in Germany send:
· 3-5 pictures (passport pic, pics with children), 1 copy of
passport, 1 copy of driving license (necessary)
· 2 references (please translate in German or English),
will be checked by us
· 1 letter to the host family beginning with “Liebe Gastfamilie”
or Dear Host-Family”, please write in German or if you cannot
express yourself that well than in English, min. 2 pages with
original signature
· 1 medical check form (Any illness must be noted) and Nanny
questionnaire (both will be issued by us)
· 1 criminal check (police), original, should not be older than
three months
· 1 final school report from educator’s school, nursing school etc.
