Visa for study in the Czech Republic

NON-EU citizens planning to stay in the CR longer than 90 days must ask for a long-term visa at a Czech embassy.
 
Requirements:
All documents must be presented in the original or a notarized copy.
All affidavits and legal documents issued and/or signed in the Czech Republic must be notarized by a Czech notary.
All documents must not be older than 180 days.
All foreign documents must be presented in translations to the Czech language with authentication.
 
The following documents must be submitted:
 
1. The application form (available upon request at the Czech Embassy or a consulate)
 
2. Two photographs
 
3. Original passport. Its validity must exceed the expected length of stay by at least 455 days.
 
4. Document confirming your sufficient financial resources for the stay in the Czech Republic:
bank account statement in your name from a bank in the Czech Republic or in country of your residence showing present balance together with your name
a letter from the host or sponsor confirming support of the applicant during his or her stay in the Czech Republic (in case of a study program only !)

The minimum acceptable amount of financial resources: approx. 34.800,- CZK (1,300 EUR) + 4.640 CZK (180 EUR)/per each month of stay. For juveniles applies half of the above stated amounts: approx. 17.400,- CZK (650 EUR) + 2.320 CZK (90 EUR)/per each month of stay. It does NOT apply for those whose purpose of stay is employment!
 
5. A document regarding the purpose of stay in the Czech Republic.
a) student class the original or a notarized copy of a document certifying the acceptance into a study program in the Czech Republic issued by a Czech university or school /copy notarized by a Czech notary/
b) visit/invitation - the original official invitation letter certified by the Immigration Police of the Czech Republic
c) other purpose of stay (medical, cultural, sport, trade, business, foundation, tourist, and other)  a document or an affidavit certifying the reason of stay, for example if you wish to establish a foundation, you will need a notarized copy of a registration certificate issued by the respective District Office.
 
6. A document regarding accommodation in the Czech Republic - in case of study, you may present an original document issued by a Czech university or school confirming accommodation for the time of your studies.
 
7. The application for the Criminal History Record  in the Czech Republic The form, which is also available upon request at the Czech Embassy or a consulate, must be completed and together with  6,-euro fee will be sent to the Police of the Czech Republic. It is also possible to make the application directly with the Police in the Czech Republic.
 
9. A processing fee (90 euro approximately) Fees paid in cash or a money order should be payable to the Embassy of Czech Republic. No personal checks, please. Consular fee might change without prior notice!
 
10. Travel (health) insurance covering your stay in the Czech Republic, worth at least 30 000 euro; this document must be submitted before your visa is issued (after consent of the Immigration Police with your application), the Further Education Group can help you with a health insurance at 500 euro per year.
 
Translations: please note that the Czech Embassy does not provide translation services. The Embassy can only notarize translations for the Czech offices.
 
IMPORTANT !
Since long term visas are only issued by the Czech Embassies abroad, applicants must wait their applications to be processed. It is forbidden to travel to the Czech Republic without the proper visa. Visas may only be collected at the Embassy/Consulate where the application was submitted.
 
The processing time is approximately 90 days since the date the complete application has been handed in (60 days in case of a study). In particularly complicated cases the procedure could take up to 180 days. Issuing a visa - after the Embassy receives an approval of your application from the Czech Immigration Police, you will be asked to come and collect your visa with your passport.
