The predecessors of the Budapest Business School realized in due time that well developed commerce requires highly qualified professionals. Thus in 1857, with the opening of the first Commercial Academy of Pest, they established a basis four the college.
 
28 years later it was followed by the laying of the foundation stone of the current college building. The doors opened in 1857 are still open for those who have a desire to learn and those returning to their old Alma mater.
 
The objective of our education is to train professionals who are able to communicate in foreign languages an manage enterprises supported by an internationally accepted degree. Our graduates will be able to take the challenge of entrepreneurship in Europe and worldwide in the ever changing world of business.
 
The wide range of course programs, the integrated but at the same time specific curricula, the variety of teaching methods, our training hotel, restaurant and pub, our training cabinets, information office, libraries and laboratories provide the necessary conditions for providing the right proportion of theory and practice, and helps our graduates in turning their intellectual capital into power.
 
In line with the objectives of the national higher education system, the faculty builds its training system on three main pillars: the training provided should be of high level, undergraduates should possess the required knowledge base in economics and methodology, and they should meet the professional requirements. In line with international practice students are trained at three levels: post secondary, undergraduate, and post-graduate.
