The study programme is an international course, leading to the international Bachelor degree in ICT. It is a university course conducted in English intended for the professional field of Information & Communication Technology. Our students are trained to become an all-round ICT-expert in software engineering. During the course students can specialise in engineering or ICT-related business management. With the knowledge and skills collected at Fontys University students can work as high-level engineers and managers in the IT sector.
Students coming from a university with a profile in Information Technology or Computer Science might enter the course in year 2 , 3 or 4 depending on the match of curricula.
Information Technology offers theoretical subjects and practical labatory training for instance in:

computer science;
networks and protocols;
communication;
software engineering and software management;
programming in e.g. Java; C++ and other higher programming languages;
mathematics;
database modelling and design;
project management and project skills;
human and ethic aspects of information technology;
multi media (webdesign);
user interface design;
real time applications;
telematics;
embedded software.
The curriculum is built up of different modules (periods in a year), in which certain subjects are taught. During the course you apply your knowledge in two internships and one graduation assignment. During the internships you work in a company.
Our engineers-to-be get the opportunity to test their skills during traineeships or internships and graduation in (or for) a company. Extra attention will be paid to the English language during the first year. The emphasis will be on oral and writing skills and presentations. At the end of the first year students can obtain a Fontys certificate.

Admission Requirements
1. International Baccalaureate with mathematics; or (I)General Certificate Secondary Education with mathematics; or Any equivalent education (to be compared by our institution);
2. IELTS score 6.0 or TOEFL score 550 in the English language or a native English speaker.

An English translation of high school transcript and a copy of the transcript in the original language.
Please note: There are additional documents to be handed in for the visa procedure. Ask your local agent. Usually most official documents also need official verification and legalisation by the appropriate embassy. Check our visa-page.
Please note: Fontys has a short track visa procedure. For that procedure they university will require you to pay all the cost, including your sustainability allowance of 741 EURO per month, up front, this will usually mean an amount over 10,000 EURO. The institute will not waiver from that requirement, nor is a payment plan possible!
