Bachelor Degree in Hotel Management
Maastricht Hotel Management School offers training for management positions in international hospitality organisations that are also closely related to the travel and tourism industry. Catering to the individual wishes of the guest is the key to success. In this way maximum interaction between host and guest is achieved, resulting in maximum guest satisfaction. It is therefore essential for the hospitality manager to guide and motivate his staff in such a way that they too will show hospitality to the guests.
The duration of the study at Maastricht Hotel Management School is 4 years of fulltime study. The curriculum is divided into 11 modules and 2 internships, each of which can best be described ad dealing with a specific management skill. These are in fact the parts which go towards completing the profile of a manager in the hospitality branch.
The first two years each consist of four modules. The 3rd and 4th years include further modules plus a 5 month operational internship with a hotel company in the 3rd year and a 5 month management internship in the 4th year. Graduation is achieved on successful completion of a management project.
In order to guarantee the integral nature of each module, each module consists of the following components: Hospitality; Economics; Social sciences; Languages; Attitude. In order which you sit the modules in each year is determinded by which group of 75 students you are placed in. Lectures are given in front of the full group however, some classes will be in groups of 30 but most of the lessons will be in seminars of approximately 15.
On graduation from Maastricht Hotel Management School, you receive the Funda, which is an internationally recognized Bachelor of Business Administration degree. Following your graduation, you can enrol in the postgraduate Innovative Hospitality Management programme. This one-year course has been developed in cooperation with the ESADE-Escola Universitaria de Turisme St. Ignasi in Barcelona.

Admission Requirements:
1. Dutch HAVO diploma (equivalent to British O-level standard). The subject Management and Organisation is strongly recommended.
2. Equivalent foreign diplomas such as High School and Lycee.
3. Students from non-native speaking English countries will also have to prove that they have a good command of the English language (e.g. a TOEFL score of 550 or an IELTS score of 6.0).

Students from foreign countries may need a visa and a residence permit before they can enter The Netherlands. The Maastricht Hotel School can assist in the visa application procedures through a short procedure, the so-called 'verkorte procedure', which significantly reduces the amount of time required to obtain a visa.
ADMISSION CONDITIONS
Applicants must submit:
· The FE / MHS Application Form
· Photocopy of passport
· An English translation of secondary school transcript and a copy of the transcript in the original language
· Proof of proficiency in the English language
· Letter of Motivation
