Bachelor in European Studies at the University of The Hague (The Hague), Netherlands
<< Back
Studying internationally means widening your horizon, both literally and figuratively. It takes courage to study abroad. In the European Studies programme there is an exchange programme that takes place in the second half of the second year. In the third year there is the chance to leave the Netherlands again if you choose to do your internship working for an organisation or company abroad. Alternatively, you can choose to do your internship in The Netherlands. Your internship will always be internationally orientated.
Specialisation Communication Management:
If you are interested in communication and the media, the communication management specialisation is what you are looking for. You learn how, here and when to use the various communication tools and how to integrate them in general company policy. The work of a communication manager is more than giving presentations and organising events, it is also writing texts.
Specialisation Business Management:
Do you want to explore export markets or specialise in international economic relations. Then go for the business management specialisation. By combining subjects like strategic management, international marketing and export in practice, you acquire broad knowledge of export management and international marketing
Specialisation Public Administration:
Do you want to know more about how governments and civil services operate, about how political systems are built up and about international relations? Then choose public administration as your specialisation. In the first three semesters of the three-year programme you learn about European Law and the structure of the European Union. The specialisation programme enables you to go into more depth.
Graduates from the European Studies programme find themselves in a wide range of jobs, which is, of course, entirely in keeping with the broad programme on offer. These jobs are with multinational companies but also with small and medium-sized companies and (local) government.
Admission to the three-year English programme is based on the four-year Dutch programme and students are expected to reach the same levels of expertise and competence. In order to be able to do the four-year programme in three years, students must have a good command of English and have a great deal of commitment. Anyone who wishes to enrol for the three-year programme should be aware of this.
